010K Arterio-Venous Fistula (AVF)

MRA of the Abdominal Aorta and Renal Arteries
Patient with a history of IVC stent with an attempt at removal resulting in trauma to the right renal artery and resulting in an arteriovenous fistula.

MRA of the Abdominal Aorta and Renal Arteries
Patient with a history of IVC stent with an attempt at removal resulting in trauma to the right renal artery and resulting in an arteriovenous fistula. MRA at the level of the fistula shows the superior extent of the prongs of the stent , noting the fistula associated with the right renal artery. There is bilateral renal atrophy and non-perfusion of the anterior cortex of the right kidney indicating an ischemic region.

IVC above the Stent is Enlarged

MRA of the Abdominal Aorta showing an Enlarged IVC
Patient with a history of IVC stent with an attempt at removal resulting in trauma to the right renal artery and resulting in an arteriovenous fistula. MRA at the level above the fistula shows an enlarged IVC as a result of the shunt.

Angiography

Right Renal Artery to IVC Fistula Angiogram
Patient with a history of IVC stent with an attempt at removal resulting in trauma to the right renal artery and resulting in an arteriovenous fistula to the IVC . Angiogram of the right renal artery confirms the fistula located just above the stent.

Right Renal Artery to IVC Fistula Angiogram
Patient with a history of IVC stent with an attempt at removal resulting in trauma to the right renal artery and resulting in an arteriovenous fistula to the IVC. The venous phase of the angiogram shows filling of the enlarged IVC superior to the IVC stent.
