010K Traumatic Ocllusion of the renal Artery Grade V Injury

41-year-old male in MVA sustains Multiple Rib fractures and Complete Occlusion of the Left Renal Artery

Axial CT – Trauma Renal Artery Occlusion Grade V Injury
41-year-old male sustained multiple rib fractures and spine fractures in an MVA. CTA shows no perfusion of the left kidney and a hematoma in the left renal hilum. A segmental perfusion defect is also noted in the right kidney. Air in the soft tissues of the back and a spinous process fracture are noted

Axial CT – Trauma Renal Artery Occlusion Grade V Injury
41-year-old male sustained multiple rib fractures and spine fractures in an MVA. CTA shows no perfusion of the left kidney and a hematoma in the left renal hilum (red arrow head a and c). A segmental perfusion defect is also noted in the right kidney (a, orange arrowhead). Air in the soft tissues of the back (blue arrowheads, b), and a spinous process fracture (white arrowhead, b) are noted

Axial CT – Trauma Renal Artery Occlusion Grade V Injury
41-year-old male sustained multiple rib fractures and spine fractures in an MVA. CTA shows no perfusion of the left kidney. The area of injury in the proximal left renal artery is noted (white arrowhead). Note also segmental perfusion defect in the right kidney.

CT Iodine Map Non perfusion of the Left Kidney –Occlusion Left Renal Artery
41-year-old male sustained multiple injuries including a Grade V renal injury. Ct in the axial plane using the iodine map confirms non perfusion of the left kidney.

Coronal CT – Trauma Renal Artery Occlusion Grade V Injury
41-year-old male sustained multiple rib fractures and spine fractures in an MVA. CTA in the coronal plane shows no perfusion of the left kidney.

Coronal CT – Fracture of the Spinous Processes and left Ribs
41-year-old male sustained multiple injuries including a Grade V renal injury. The coronal CT shows rib fractures and spinous process fractures.

Selective Angiography –Occlusion Left Renal Artery
41-year-old male sustained multiple injuries including a Grade V renal injury. Selective left renal angiogram shows an occlusion of the proximal renal artery withing 2cms of its origin.

Selective Angiography –Occlusion Left Renal Artery Post Angioplasty
41-year-old male sustained multiple injuries including a Grade V renal injury. Selective left renal angiogram had shown an occlusion of the proximal renal artery withing 2cms of its origin. Selective renal angiography following angioplasty shows restoration of approximately 60% of blood flow to the lower portion of the left kidney
